1. PREAMBLE
1.1. Basic Information & History
The Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) is the police department of the city of Los Santos, San Andreas. With 10,023 officers and 2,879 civilian staff, it is the third-largest local law enforcement agency in the United States, after the Liberty City Police Department and the Chicago Police Department.
1.2. Locations
1.2.1. Headquarters (HQ)
This is the headquarters of the Los Santos Police Department, the base of operations. This is where all of the department vehicles are located, mostly at the Police Department Garage right beside the main building. This is also the location of department reignments.
1.2.2. Police Department Garage
This is where most of LSPD vehicles are located, the main department arrest point, and where reignments take place.
1.2.3. Garage Exterior
This is the station of the garage it is guarded by two policer officers and a steel gate, the actual garage is underground (pictured below). It also has a impound area for violated vehicles.
1.2.4. Headquarters Roof
The roof of our headquarters gives a good view around the building, and it houses two Eurocopter AS350's and an arrest point.
1.2.5. Location of Headquarters
The headquarters and its garage is located in Masteron Memorial Building, Pershing Square, Los Santos.
2. RANKS
2.1. Basic Information & History
Ranks in the LSPD are important because it is the basis of the chain of command. All personnel should respect the their higher-ranking personnel.
2.2. Hierachy
Cadet (R0)

A Cadet is the probationary officer in the Los Santos Police Department. They are to be trained in the Police Academy with a Basic Cadet Induction (BCI), kept as Cadet position for at least 2 days and then take a Cadet Experience and Training Examination (CETE) to prove they are capable of being an Officer (R1).
Officer (R1)
An Officer is qualified for all situations and have shown their capability of policing abilities, teamwork and co-operation, and able to follow orders. There are two sub-ranks of being an officer, Officer I and Officer II. An Officer II has a higher rank than an Officer I.
Senior Officer (R2)
A Senior Officer is an elite Officer and has proven their policing abilities.
Sergeant (R3)
A Sergeant is low-ranking igned officer in the Los Santos Police Department, they can give orders to Enlistees and can give out strikes. Sergeants cannot be promoted any further without becoming a Division Lieutenant. Also, Sergeants can be the istant leader of a division.
Lieutenant (R4)
A Lieutenant is a mid-ranking igned officer of the department, and can be the leader of a division. Lieutenants have full control over their igned division.
Captain (R5)
A Captain has semi-control and leadership responsibilities over the entire department.
Chief of Police (R6)
The Chief of Police has been igned to lead the Los Santos Police Department, and takes charge of the of the entire department.
3. DIVISIONS

The LSPD offers a number of tasks to keep any man or women occupied. We currently have two divisions. They are:

Field Training Operations (FTO)

The Field Training Operations (FTO) is designed to provide the department with fresh recruits and personnel with the most up-to-date training routines. They oversee all training activities for candidates seeking employment as an Officer (R1) or routinely post new training sessions for the entire department. Their tasks are as follows, training and recruiting new candidates to become officers (R1) and arranging department-wide trainings.[/I]
Traffic Enforcement (T.E)

Traffic Enforcement consists of the most elite drivers and pilots with in the department. Whenever there is a high speed pursuit or a suspect tries to escape by air, Traffic Enforcement is called to the scene. Their tasks as skilled drivers tasked on high-risk pursuits are as follows, patroling the city of Los Santos to uphold the law in high-speed pursuit vehicles and police motorbikes, conduct, ist, and leading pursuits with suspected criminals in high-speed pursuit vehicles, maintaining a birds-eye visual over the city of Los Santos in Eurocopter AS350s or "Squirrels", responding to critical situations and backup calls very quickly.[/I]

The LSPD supplies a number of vehicles to aid our officers in the heat of crime.

City Patrol Cruiser
This is the LSPD city patrol cruiser. It is the main patrol vehicle in the LSPD.

Impound Towtruck
This is the standard cadet vehicle, it is used to transport and impound illegally parked vehicles.

Supervisory Patrol Rancher
This is the off-road rancher. It's upgraded engine and front-wheel drive system (FWD) provides a faster acceleration than the City Patrol Cruiser to quickly drive to a problem that need administrative attention.

5. EQUIPMENT
5.1. Basic Information & History
The department has a number of equipment to aid our officers in the battle of crime in the streets of Los Santos. We have everything ranging from megaphones to sniper rifles.
5.2. Gear
Bulletproof Vest
All on-duty personnel must wear this armour at all times (unless investigating undercover), as it protects the wearer from small arms projectiles and physical impacts.

Handcuffs
Handcuffs are used to restrain an individual's wrists close together, preventing the criminal / suspect to escape police custody.

Taser
Tasers (or tazers) are electroshock weapons designed to disrupt the control of the target's muscles temporarily, to give time to the officer to handcuff the suspect and put him/her in police custody. It is the one of the most commonly-used weapons used by the LSPD to stop crime.

Bean-bag Rounds
These rounds are specifically designed to disable targets by inflicting least damage and maximum pain.

This sound-amplifying device is used to shout out orders for a vehicle pullover or a large crowd.

This two-way radio is essential to communicate with other officers in the field. Can access two frequencies; local department radio (( /r )) and departmental radio (( /d )).

This melee weapon can be used to fend off any physical attackers from its wielder.

This aerosol weapon can be used to for self-defense and/or to control riots.

SIG Sauer P226
This compact but powerful handgun is used by all police officers to kill any threatening criminals quickly, it has a slow rate of fire but a devastating effect on target.

Mossberg 500
This standard shotgun is used to fight any criminal easily and calmly, it is cheap and easy to use. Although its system is pump-action, it can do a great deal of damage to a wide area.

Heckler & Koch MP5
The MP5 submachine gun has a devastating rate of fire and can be used to fire and a large group of targets.

The M16 ault rifle has very good range, accuracy, and damage, plus a healthy magazine.

The SPAS-12 is an automatic shotgun, able to deal tons of damage with a fantastic rate of fire. This weapon is designed for close-quarters combat, and is very dangerous.

The uniform worn by the LSPD is a respresentation of you when you deal with the criminals of today. Looks are as important as actions in some situations.
